Lawrence J. Eisenberg Before joining with Mr. Palmieri to form the firm, Mr. Eisenberg maintained a private practice in the Washington D.C. area specializing in employee benefit matters, and worked for both major legal and accounting firms in various capacities while practicing employee benefits law. Mr. Eisenberg has extensive experience in tax and employee benefit issues, including all types of qualified plans; ESOP financing and tax-free rollover transaction; nonqualified deferred compensation plans and executive compensation for taxable and tax-exempt organizations; split-dollar insurance programs and other deferred compensation programs funded with insurance and annuities, and secured by "rabbi and secular" trusts; compliance with all employee benefit tax and ERISA requirements; fringe benefits; cafeteria and welfare benefit programs; retirement distribution planning; VEBA's, retiree health programs, and corporate owned life insurance. Mr. Eisenberg frequently speaks to various organizations regarding pension and welfare benefit issues, and is a contributing editor to the Flex Plan Handbook, a publication devoted to cafeteria plans. Mr. Eisenberg is also frequent contributor and occasional editor to other employee benefit publications. Mr. Eisenberg is a graduate of the National Law Center in Washington, D.C., and is a graduate of the George Washington University Business School. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Eisenberg is licensed to practice in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. |
